Oh Yea, The Infertility Deniers
No one really cares about the infertility of others, especially once they get theirs, and to be honest no one really should. The infertility of a specific two people don’t really matter once you have an infant to deal with, in addition to finding ways to earn money and hopefully leave some to an older version of that infant. Ideally you’d want to see a little more empathy from fully-formed adults, but it’s also not reasonable to expect it.
I can tell you from very deeply personal experience that a woman sitting in an IVF waiting room for her sixth cycle is not the same woman who got three kids on six total months of trying. They may have the same anatomy and be the same age, but they’re not the same woman. In many ways, it’s the dividing line of adulthood.
I think it’s very reasonable to not give a shit about someone else struggling to conceive. Go on with your bad self, baby! But then we get into this weird space around what’s almost “infertility denialists,” and those people are a fucking joy to deal with.
