University of Idaho Murders: Key Questions As Of December 9th

Now it seems like we’re talking about mode of transport.

Here’s what I’ve got as of now:

  • What was the mode of transport for the killer? Since the cops are asking for help with this white car, it seems like they have something evidence-wise that leads them to believe the killer arrived by car or used a car in some capacity.

If it’s a car vs. walking, those are different takes:

The “walking” angle seems to imply that the fraternity (which is 30 seconds away by foot) is involved somehow, or maybe this Jack S. character, who apparently lived in the apartment building essentially “on top” of the house.

  • Who was the target? It seems like we’re currently leaning towards Kaylee collectively, but there have been other reports that Maddie was the decapitated one (admittedly that’s just Reddit), and/or that the couple (Ethan and Xana) were targeted, and they have the missing timeline hours still. So, who was the target?
  • Are the cops going to do more frequent updates? Are the lack of updates because they have nothing, or because they’re actually pretty close and trying to figure out the final 2–3 pieces before they go back in front of the media?
  • Was this an incel? I do think it’s very likely a sexually-frustrated dude and Kaylee and Maddie were the targets, but if you look at incel culture, no, I don’t think personally that it “must” be an incel.
  • Did we clear people too early? That answer seems to be “yes,” but we won’t know for sure until we get an announced suspect or an arrest.
  • What was the order of movement through the house? This would be tied to motive and target, but also would explain some of the issues around the ladies on the first floor surviving.
  • What happened with the 911 call? I assume we won’t get this until the big 2-hour Dateline on this case in a few years, but what was happening on the 911 call with the “unconscious individual” and multiple people on the line to the point that police cannot release it?
  • Is the frat involved? Right now it seems like “no,” but still some mysteries here.
  • What about the dog? Obviously dogs cannot speak (sad), but what was the role of the dog in everything?

What other questions do you still have?
