This is an interesting topic and I do feel like it’s increasingly becoming a bigger slice of the societal pie in terms of bad things happening, but it’s also hard to write about because you don’t want to glorify any of these guys and their horrible actions. I will see if I can successfully paint the edges on it. I am not sure I can.
First off, you need to define the term, which is “involuntary celibate,” or essentially guys who think everyone else is getting laid and getting female attention and they (the incels) are the ones who deserve said physical and emotional comfort. The dude bros they hate are “Chads” and the women who turn away from them are “Stacys.” It’s all a little bit crazy and complicated at some level, but … I will say that I was a fat, dorky kid for most of my growing-up period (read: still am), and seeing others have what you think you should have is powerful. Now, the difference is I never considered shooting up any place or anything like that. I can also tell you that when you’re in an infertility loop (currently am), and it seems like everyone around you is getting pregnant, and you know some of the guys involved are douchebags, you can feel strongly that way. Again, not shooting anyone up or anything, but I understand the emotion.
Here’s one “incel” discussing his lot in life:
“You ask out girls every chance you can but they shut you off. You cut your hair nice, shave beard nice, have a car, do your best to get ahead and you have a motorcycle and you’re kind and EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU ARE AROUND A WOMAN THEY ARE TREATING YOU LIKE THE WEIRD UNCLE OR LIKE A GODDAMN INFERIOR BEING and yet you meet the guys these women married and they are arrogant, crude, lying obnoxious pricks. So then you AS A NORMAL GUY sign yourself up for POF (Plenty of Fish), Tinder, Match, etc and you message HUNDREDS of women like 400 on POF and you swipe right on EVERY tinder profile and you wait a week or 2 and check back to see how many messages you got and you have ZERO messages on POF and one message on tinder.
“You just weren’t born with Brad Pitt’s face. That is your sin. You can be fit, make more money, etc but if you are deemed unattractive you are put in a corner of rejection.”
