January 6, 2021 As Viewed From A Conservative Bartop

It is crazy to think that today is four years since the January 6th (call it what you ideologically want to call it), and perhaps even crazier to think that after all that, Americans are generally so concerned with things feeling cheap so they can feel successful (and the Democrats are so bad at managing national sentiment and campaigns) that the guy who inspired said events is back in the White House. Ah, the tides of history.

Four years ago, I had gotten married three months prior (October 2020) and moved into a new house that we bought the same month (I.e. also October). In 2021, throughout the course of the year I’d actually work three full-time jobs and I believe I earned about $250,000 that year, which is a dream in some respects considering mostly what I did was write off-task blog posts, white papers, and webinar scripts. I made some extra scratch off Medium and Substack that year too; I might have made 300K all-in, honestly. Weird to even think about. Of those three jobs, I could possibly still have one today, which is the one I probably fucked up the most via drinking. The other two? I actually think one of those companies already doesn’t exist.
