For Now At Least, We’ve Got An August 2025 Trial Date For The Idaho 4

When the Idaho 4 murders happened in November 2022, I had just resigned from a job at TCU and was, for better or worse minus a few writing gigs, unemployed. I had also just done one round of IVF, at a cost of about $16,000, which failed. I was generally pretty despondent about the world and life, causing me to write stuff like this, so in between Job applications and whatnot, I did a lot of deep dives into the murders and the case in general. I had a few $2,500+ months on Medium because of my articles about the case back when it was fresh and all sorts of rumors were all over 4Chan and the like.

If you have never heard of this case, basically four college students were murdered in their off-campus University of Idaho home in November 2022: three women and one man, the man being the boyfriend of one of the women. There were all sorts of theories about frat bros, exes, and this being a “drug house.” Finally, about six weeks later, some former TA at Washington State University, Bryan Kohberger — who admittedly seems guilty as sin when you add up everything — was arrested and he’s been detained in Idaho ever since. The trial has been pushed probably six times at this point. Right now, it is slated to begin on…
