I think this one is accurate — again, not in the case of all guys (nothing is universal), but in many cases. I think we went too far on calling everything “patriarchy,” but this idea is the essence of the patriarchy. A man often thinks that a woman needs to prove something to him about her “worth,” and the channels by which she does that are wife + mother. In reality, no one needs to prove shit to the other person in a relationship aside from trust and support.
