Why Are We Publicly Debating The Grieving Process, Again?
Is this about “liberal ghouls” or something else?
It seems like in the last three-four weeks, we’ve now had a few “viral” clips whereby people post a static image proving Erika Kirk is somehow not grieving, and/or they do video clips about it. I guess the biggest “name” doing this is Nick Fuentes, and the fact that Nick Fuentes is even “a name” in 2025 kinda tells you everything you need to understand about where America arrived in 2025, but others have done it. Over the past weekend, she tweeted “GO DUCKS,” as her husband loved Oregon (apparently) and they were in a top-six game vs. Penn State, and several subtweets were like “Why are you online? Be with your children.”
Just to break that specific example down:
- It takes about two-three seconds to write “GO DUCKS” and hit publish. Most people are awake for about 16–18 hours a day. I don't think that tweet means her children are not loved.
- A lot of the sub-tweets and questioning of her grief are probably from bot accounts designed to stir up bullshit and sub-interest to distract from the main storylines of the moment, and we should acknowledge that.
