What’s Up In This Penelope Wise Case Out Of Michigan?

A 17 year-old disappears and then ends up engaged to a 44 year-old?

If you haven’t heard of or seen this one, here’s an article:

Here’s what apparently happened:

• There are some reports that this girl, named Penelope “Penny” Wise, had mental health challenges. I would not be surprised.
• She was 17.
• She got in a fight with her parents in late May and walked out.
• She was seen a few hours later on video, near a bar, about 12 miles from her house. (Did she walk the 12 miles?)
• Then she seemed to disappear.
• Just recently, i.e. this past week or so, she was found to be living with a 44 year-old man, and they’re apparently engaged.
• The name of the man is not released.
• Now, the Michigan age of consent is 16, and she was 17, so bear that in mind.
• She’s in custody talking to cops and her parents, who are “relieved,” have not yet seen her.
