I watch a solid amount of true crime, and unfortunately in the course of watching a bunch of true crime, you run across some really negative stuff towards kids. I’m apparently infertile, and that’s been a big weight on me since — well, forever, but definitely 2020 or so — and so sometimes it’s depressing to see this shit, but I also enjoy observing human nature in all its forms, so I persist.

A story in the news recently is Alexee Trevizo, who is somewhere around Artesia, New Mexico. She apparently stuffed her newborn — who was born alive — into a trash bag liner at a hospital back in January. Most of the footage is here:

It took them until May to arrest her, which happened here:

In between the “baby in the trash” and “arrest,” she went to prom — and yes, I believe this dude is the father of said baby in trash:

Both her and her mom claim they “didn’t know” she was pregnant, which seems nearly impossible to me. I’ve never been pregnant but it seems like across 38–40 weeks, you would know. Some guy on the ol’ YouTube dug up some cheerleading footage of her, and it seems relatively clear she would have known:

Well, also in New Mexico back in January 2022 — so a year before the Trevizo birth…

I write about a lot of different topics, from work to masculinity to relationships and social dynamics, I.e. modern friendship. Pleasure to be here.
