What If Allen vs. Mahomes Is A Better Rivalry Than Brady vs. Manning, All-In?
Last night was the 7th time Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen have met professionally as quarterbacks, which seems high given that they don’t play in the same division. The advantage is now 4–3 Mahomes, but it seems wider, because Mahomes has won all the playoff contests — and, in fact, the Bills have been eliminated from the playoffs by the Chiefs in three of the past four seasons, with the Bengals (last year) as the other team that eliminated them.
Because Mahomes owns the “important” games of the rivalry thus far (ironically, it was thought for a time that Burrow owned the important games against Mahomes), it’s easy to see the similarities between this rivalry and Brady vs. Manning. In fact, this rivalry is on-paper better so far, because the initial wave of Brady vs. Manning games were not that close. Lookie here:
