What Happens To Friendships Around Sobriety?

I think I can keep this one fairly short. First of all, I’ve only been truly chasing sobriety for about 40 days or so now.

I can’t give you a much wider view than that, unfortunately.

What I can tell you at the basic level is that some stuff is obviously going to change. You have people you know through drinking, commonly referred to as “drinking buddies.” You have people you know at a deeper level than that, but most of your societal context involves drinking, and it’s harder to want to put yourself in those situations moving forward. And then you have good, “whatever the case may be” friends.
