We’re Discussing Black Athletes And White Women Now? OK, Sure.

This one isn’t that complicated, but we make it so.

A week or so ago, some D1 athlete went on TikTok — everything is apparently downstream of TikTok now — and did a rant about why black athletes choose white women instead of black women. First off, you should know this isn’t entirely true. Aaron Donald, Donovan Mitchell and some other notable African-American athletes had African-American partners/wives. Russell Wilson actually went from a white woman (the lady screaming in his NFL Draft meme) to Ciara. So, it’s not a perfect thing.

But yes, it does often seem like black men pair off with white women. Some of the themes, and that original TikTok, are in here:

So, why are we discussing this now?

I’d say two reasons, maybe? Caleb Williams showed up at the NFL Draft to be selected first overall with a skinny white woman by his side:
