University Of Idaho Murders: What Do We Still Need On Bryan Kohberger?

Obviously “motive” is the big thing, but we may never get that.

Extradition hearing on Tuesday. If he fights extradition, who knows how long until we get the Probable Cause Affidavit? If he doesn’t, maybe we have it (redacted) by the end of the coming week. That would be cool, and maybe answer some questions. I think most questions will be answered by the trial — which might be 2–3 years away, unfortunately — and I’m sure both Dateline and 48 Hours will do two-hour episodes on this case and get some new footage for us, which hopefully includes the SWAT / PA State Police 3am arrest, because that would be fun to see.

As 2022 closes, and this was perhaps the craziest true crime of the year, here are some of the things I think people are still digging around on:

  • Motive: The main thing you see on shows right now is “Well, he was interested in the dark side of criminal behavior and wanted to experience it himself.” That seems like an entirely logical motive, actually. So maybe that’s it. If he’s real big on the criminal psychology aspect of everything, maybe he talks ad nauseam. He might be talking in a room in PA as I type this. We don’t know.
  • Connection: Motive and connection would obviously be tied. I think the…
