Here we go again.

I wrote a little bit about various “targeting” theories earlier in this case:

It seems like the arc of Internet sleuthdom on this case was:

• Kaylee must be the target.
• It was probably some combo of Kaylee and Maddie.
• No, no — it was Ethan.
• OK, no. It was Ethan and Xana.
• Maybe it was all four?
• It must have been Ethan or Kaylee because they weren’t necessarily supposed to be in the house.
• OK, back to Kaylee or Kaylee and Maddie.

I don’t think we know the target. However, I do think the Moscow Police came out early and said “This was targeted…” because there was some evidence of overkill or other items in the house showcasing a singular focus. Obviously they did reverse that at one point and say “Stay vigilant,” but their initial reaction seemed to be: This is targeted.

I think a lot of people think it must be Kaylee and Maddie because they’re hot young things. That’s potentially true, but also could be a reflection of Internet culture.

If that is Jack D, then you need to start thinking about his alibi.

But, remember:

• He was cleared pretty fast, which means he probably went in and did some tests with them.
• The Goncalves family mostly seems to be…
