The Kelce Dynasty Is Crumbling!
No, it’s not crumbling. They both make millions of dollars, one dates arguably the most famous person in the world at present, and their podcast/YouTube show is a big deal. But … but … consider some of this:
- The Eagles have been blown out not one, but two straight weeks by two teams expected to be some of their biggest playoff contenders: the 49ers, then the Cowboys.
- The Chiefs have lost two straight games — the first two losses with Taylor Swift in attendance, actually — to two teams they theoretically should have beaten, the Packers (definitely) and the Bills (probably). Both games had tough decisions involving refs at the end, with the Packers loss probably worse in terms of refs and the Bills loss being a lot of whining because, honestly, the Toney guy was way offsides and rules do need to matter.
Is the empire crumbling? Not quite. But … would I expect either Philadelphia or Kansas City to host a conference championship game this year? I would not. Would I expect Mahomes to have to play his first road game as a starter in the playoffs? I would. At this moment, would I predict another Chiefs-Eagles Super Bowl? I would not. (I’d lean 49ers-Ravens at this particular moment, which is almost guaranteed to be wrong.)
You into the Kelces? Do you think they’ve hit a downturn?
