Super Bowl Lesson Applied To Work (Vaguely): “The Core Four” Of The Eagles
Don’t chase flash. Don’t worry about A-Players. Get the workers.
The “Core Four” of the current Philadelphia Eagles, all of whom were also on the team when they beat Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl after the 2017 season (“The Nick Foles Super Bowl”), are:
- Brandon Graham (2010 NFL Draft, №13 overall)
- Jason Kelce (2011 NFL Draft, №191 overall)
- Fletcher Cox (2012 NFL Draft, №12 overall)
- Lane Johnson (2013 NFL Draft, №4 overall)
The first thing that pops out here is three of these four guys were first-round picks, with Johnson being a top-five pick. The second thing that pops is that these guys were taken in four consecutive drafts. And I suppose the third thing that pops is that they’re all still on the team, in Graham’s case 13 years later. Graham is also responsible for the strip sack of Brady that won them the 2017 Super Bowl:
