So What, If Anything, Do We Know About Thomas Matthew Crooks?

This is the 20 year-old that fired at Donald Trump in Butler, PA.

It does not seem like we know much as members of the public. This kid shot at Donald Trump from about 450 feet away, on the top of a building that had a direct line of sight to a former President yet wasn’t inside the secure perimeter (odd). He was 20. He didn’t have much social media. A couple of people have posted incorrect videos of someone supposedly him ranting about Trump, but that’s been debunked all over the place. What we seem to know is:

• He was 20.
• He donated $15 to Biden at 17.
• He was now a registered Republican.
• He wore a t-shirt to the shooting of a popular Second Amendment YouTube channel.
• His dad first told the media he had “no idea what the hell was going on.”
• In all the videos circulating of the shooting, you consistently hear a woman in the background screaming “Crooks, get back here! Crooks!” The immediate presumption is that it’s his mom, but could be a female friend.
