Over the last 5–10 years, I’ve increasingly thought local should be the approach to politics, and national is kind of a clown show that everyone focuses on so that we have something to talk about at dinner apart from whatever thing someone’s kids just did, and/or obviously national politics is Tribalism, and it also reflects your vision of the America you want to believe you live in. So we focus a lot of attention there, but in reality who the President is doesn’t matter that much except in the sense (esp. because of deadlocked, incompetent legislators) of how many people they can put on the high court and other federal courts.

Still, we’re 15 days out from all this, and most people are just trying to get ‘er done, I think. Something like 16 million people have early voted. I’m going to do it today, after work, if I can get my fat ass on a bike quickly enough to get downtown and cast that ballot. But I will vote early. I want to wash my hands of this deal quickly too.

You might look at this one and say: where are the undecided voters? I’ve seen reports that both camps…
