Should We Be Infuriated By Stephanie Melgoza?
About a year ago, Stephanie Melgoza — pictured above — had three vodka sodas and some weed, got in her red Dodge Dart, and sped around East Peoria, Illinois. At some point, she hit these two people with her car, and they died:
When Melgoza was pulled over by the cops, she was a drunken idiot and laughing:
Later in that video, as she’s in the hospital, she’s asking an officer to get her car back because she has classes tomorrow, etc. She even talks about an upcoming trip to Vegas and her fondness for Long Island Ice Teas.
This happened last April, but it’s all going viral now because she was sentenced this April to 14 years in prison. The family of the woman she killed wanted 28, but the judge went 14, and Melgoza has to serve 85% of the sentence.
