SF/NYC Are Hellholes More Because Of Cost Of Living Than “Liberalism”

San Francisco and NYC, long the bastions of the tech and finance industries, have seen some rough times of late. San Francisco has been maligned for seven years at this point as some urban hellscape where you can easily steal $999 worth of stuff from CVS, and everyone on the street is OD’ing. Here’s one of those takes in video form:

In terms of my bonafides here, I grew up in NYC, then lived there another four years as an adult. My parents still live there. When people ask me why I don’t live there, I typically say something about the cost of living.
