I got married the first time in 2013. I got divorced in 2017. In that span, I would say my ex-wife and I “tried” for kids maybe two or three months. Whiffed on all of them. Seeing as how we got divorced, I would assume in hindsight that this was a good thing. I got remarried in 2020. We tried for a while, more than 2–3 months, and then did IVF a couple of times. Still nada. By this point, I have resolved myself to a DINK existence barring some type of miracle re: sperm, egg, meeting, etc. I’ve been in the throes of infertility for probably 4–5 years, and while day-to-day it’s manageable, the big picture of it can be hard.

Periodically at the intersection of “infertility” and “true crime,” you meet people like Oklahoma City couple Aubrianna Freeman and Dakota Dodd:

Probably needs to be noted that Dodd is not the biological father of the kids in this story; he is their stepfather.
