Personally, I Always Thought Bastion Booger Was The Worst Wrestling Gimmick

I had a big history with wrestling as a wayward young boy. I would say I got into it around late-1989, and was fervently active in terms of watching shows, trying to get my dad to take me to live events, and periodically convincing my parents to buy a pay-per-view until probably 1994. I got back into it around 1996 with Hogan in WCW, then fell off later in high school and into college. I completely didn’t pay attention to wrestling except for a few things related to The Rock, Steve Austin, and Brock Lesnar until maybe 2009, when I returned to the fold and started caring again. That dropped off again in 2012 or so, and I haven’t been that active a fan since then, although I will periodically go down YouTube wormholes of old stuff.

I saw The Iron Claw about the Von Erich family this past weekend — good movie, would go see it — and I went down another YouTube rabbit hole about wrestling afterwards. World Class Championship Wrestling, where they mostly worked, became Global Wrestling Federation, or GWF. That’s where Harlem Heat and some others really got going. So I started watching some WCCW and GWF clips, and that got my algorithm juiced on wrestling, so eventually I was fed this:
