Once More On The Suzanne Morphew Case: Barry Drove His Daughter’s Car!
I’ve now written about this case three times. Aside from the Idaho 4, I’ve never written about a true crime case that much. So this morning, I had to ask myself: Why is this so fascinating? I still don’t have the answer, although I think it’s because it has elements of so many other cases. First off, you got a natural connection to Chris Watts — both in Colorado, and oddly in both cases the guy involved claims he had sex with his wife right before she died. (Seems a weird thing to add in police interviews.) Then, with all the stuff being dropped in trash cans around the Denver area, you got a connection to Fotis Dulos’ case. (More on that in a second.) There’s been some theories, not substantiated in any way, that maybe Barry had help from a mistress/girlfriend, I.e. the lady he’s supposedly dating now, who was once arrested for trespassing at the former family home:
So there’s lot of elements here. My personal theory, tied to the first post I ever wrote about this case, is that one of the two daughters suspects the dad, but they’re not flipping on the dad yet — because he has money and because they already lost their mom. At some point in the future, be it because of a husband or boyfriend or seeing the light of God, one of the daughters may go to the cops and say, “This is what I know.” If you read the affidavit, which I definitely have now three times, Suzanne had a “long talk” with one of the daughters — presumably the younger one who was still at home — and that daughter supposedly told her to get a divorce.
But in this interview, the daughters seem pretty lovey-dovey with dad:
