Now Oprah And Arthur Brooks Will Teach Us About Happiness, Eh?

Maybe this will work. Maybe it won’t.

Oprah, who was a media queen of the 1980s until now (and still is), and Arthur Brooks, who teaches at Harvard and basically tells students at Harvard that everything they thought would make them happy won’t actually make them happy (he’s also a columnist for The Atlantic), have a new book out about happiness, and they’re (at least Brooks) doing the media tour to promote it. Here’s a good clip from MSNBC.

The tenets of their new book are similar to the idea of “The Four-Way Win,” which is a different professor (a guy from UPenn) and has been around for almost a decade:

The essence is: fill your cup with relationships and friends and faith (some version of faith) and work that has some type of meaning.

I write about a lot of different topics, from work to masculinity to relationships and social dynamics, I.e. modern friendship. Pleasure to be here.
