Not Breaking News, No, But Democrats Need To Solve The Masculinity Issue (Fast)

I am unsure if Andy Beshear is the answer, but he seems like one direction.

If you even followed the news a little bit during the 2024 election season, you would know that one theme of said election (in the USA) was young men “going right,” I.e. identifying with guys like Joe Rogan and Tucker Carlson — who are at this point state media, because their party is in power, even though they constantly call themselves “independent” — and some confusion apparently resulted from why exactly young men were identifying with a guy who has been married a bunch of times, might be a rapist, is definitely a serial cheater, etc. It felt a little odd.

This is not really that complicated of a discussion, and yet at the same time it’s a massively complicated discussion. I can give you some of the 35,000-foot stuff quickly, though:

  • #MeToo was a great movement and we needed more consciousness around how awful men can be and how women suffer at the hands of said men. However, that pendulum may have swung too far towards lots of things men do being branded as “toxic,” and may have removed the long-held notions of “boys will be boys.” Boys already develop slower intellectually, so by restricting them into perfect little angels at age…
