Melissa Jubane’s Sad Ending Arc

The Beaverton woman, just married, likely died for not making herself available to her similar-profession neighbor.

Melissa Jubane was 32, a nurse in Beaverton/Portland, a former NIKE employee, and had just gotten married after a 10-year relationship to a guy who was living in Bremerton, Washington. I actually believe their wedding was August 24, and they spent Labor Day Weekend together in the Seattle-ish area. She came back to Portland for work. Here’s what happened next:

She went missing, and after 2–3 days, they found her body. A day or so later, they arrested her 27-year-old neighbor, Bryce. Bryce was also a nurse, but at a different hospital. He was charged with second-degree murder. He just appeared in court the first time.

The probable cause affidavit in this one is still sealed by the judge, so we don’t know a lot of specifics, but if you have a history with true crime, you can figure out most of this.
