Let’s Just Admit It: Ryan Day Will End Up In The NFL Somehow

At this point, it only seems logical.

Three straight losses in arguably the biggest rivalry college football has. That’s not good. C.J. Stroud is the hottest rookie in the NFL (despite yesterday’s loss). He’s killing it at the pro level, and yet even a OSU team he led couldn’t beat Michigan. Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes exist at some odd crossroads, with a lot of money at stake. No one has any idea what is going to happen. Everyone has a theory.

Here’s what you need to look at:

  1. The New England Patriots are bad for the first time in two decades. While the “how you fire Belichick” discussion is very confusing to even attempt to have, that job may be open at some point.
  2. You have Mike Vrabel circling around out there. He has a potential new young QB in Will Levis, but he also might want out of Tennessee. They’re not good, although they beat a worse team yesterday. He has deep ties to both New England and Ohio State.
  3. Now you also kinda feel bad for Luke Fickell and his Cincinnati run being slightly premature, because he’d be the obvious OSU coach to follow Day — but I can’t see him leave Wisconsin after one year. They did put a nice win on Minnesota to end the regular season.
  4. The Bears are also not great, and Justin Fields has ties to Ryan Day.

So there’s some dance here whereby OSU, the Patriots, the Bears, and others are involved. Ryan Day is from New Hampshire, FYI. Columbus is close to Chicago.

Something’s gonna happen.

I am not sure what, but if I had to bet the platry $7 in my pocket, I bet Ryan Day somehow ends up in the NFL.

You?
