Let’s Briefly Consider Paulette Thompson In The Manhattan Shooting

Years of Dateline must teach you something.

Paulette Thompson was the wife of Brian Thompson, the UnitedHealth CEO essentially assassinated in Manhattan on Wednesday morning.

The overwhelming response to that murder is “It must have been done by someone who was raked over the coals by the healthcare industry.” Noted. Very logical.

Even now, apparently the shooter engraved the damn bullets with insurance industry terms:

But let’s move to the wife for a second. If you have ever watched even 2–3 episodes of Dateline or 48 Hours, you know it’s very often tied to a spouse. Over the years, I can think of 10 cases where a wife hired someone to off her husband.

Paulette here is sitting pretty life-wise. While I would highly doubt she has worked in a number of years (worked outside the home, that is), they have a nice life in Maple Grove, Minnesota and are apparently worth about $45M. There was absolutely life insurance on Brian. Anyone with a brain…
