James and Jennifer Crumbley Deserve Some Punishment For Their Kid Shooting Up A School

It’s time we started handling things this way.

Ethan Crumbley killed four and injured seven in Oxford, Michigan in 2021. Because that’s a relatively “low-number” school shooting, you might be forgiven if you forgot it. The case got more attention because they charged his parents with, I believe, manslaughter. Ethan will go away for life, in all likelihood. The parents won’t, but they’ll get something — and that honestly seems fair. If we’re going to consistently have teenage mental health issues and kids under 18 committing these acts, at some point we do and will need legal precedent for punishing the parents too.

Currently, the case is on appeal to the Michigan Supreme Court:
