It doesn’t fit our narratives, but not all unvaccinated are evil. It’s not a monolith.

Here’s some breaking news: people are different.

They have different belief structures; they live in different places; they were raised in different ways; they work in different industries; they have different hobbies; their primary caregivers told them different things were important.

Difference. It’s pretty common. Even some very successful spouses are hugely different people. I can think of six couples like that off the top of my head. And in reality, relationships are more about partnership than sameness, although I don’t know if we always realize that as we evolve. I digress.

Because (at least in America, but also elsewhere), we tend to live in a very polarized state now where everything is a possible entry into the Culture Wars Canon, we want to believe that the unvaccinated, who anger the vaccinated, are all right-wing nutjobs who post about killing Fauci and wear MAGA hats. That’s some of the unvaccinated, absolutely. But the group is hardly a monolith. Smarter people than me have said this, noting:

  1. Republicans — and Republican women in particular — remain the largest source of vaccine opposition. While 86 percent of Democrats have received at least one dose, only 52 percent of Republicans have done the same…
