That’s Eric Weinstein. I don’t really know him super well, but I think he’s a big deal, at least in the sense that he appears on podcasts + YouTube clips a decent amount.

I watched this clip on Friday. Immediately prior to watching this clip, I had done a bunch of vocational work, biked to a coffee shop, met with a guy in commercial development, biked back, then biked again in 101-degree heat and had a few beers with my friend, then biked back and did more work. I was kind of exhausted and doing laundry, just for context.

Somewhere in here, Eric talks about a story with this setup: he meets a 26 year-old woman, and he asks her “Are you a mom yet?” She laughs in his face. So he tells the host of this podcast, “Well, it’s not that weird to think a 26 year-old woman might have a kid.” Indeed, it’s not — and 300 years ago, I think a 26 year-old would be done having kids, but we…
