Instagram Continues To Seem Broadly Useless

And yet, it’s where the narratives of 30-something women are still written.

It has been replaced by TikTok

Unless you are maybe 28 to 44 right now, I think you use Facebook (upper ages) or TikTok (younger). Only that 28 to 44 slice is still using Instagram to largely convey their life goals and expectations to the masses.

The creators are not, well, that creative anymore

It’s largely performative

Remember “black squares?” Remember the Social Justice Revolution of 2020, which largely turned to selling more skin-care products within about two months? It’s also the absolute queen bee of performative motherhood:
