For True Crime Fans, The Ellie Friar Case Is One Of The Best Out There
I watch a decent amount of true crime, but I also don’t love YouTube videos that take over two hours. I’m not really that busy of a person, but I have some things to do here and there, ya know? 2–3 hours feels like a big commitment. As such, I avoided this particular video for about a year before finally watching most of it last week:
I was vaguely aware of the Ellen (Ellie) Friar case from Medford, Oregon before this video, but it goes really deep into it and the interrogations of the three main people. The essence of the case is that Ellie Friar was 15, although she begins her interrogation by lying about her name, age, and year in school, and she was dating a 19-year old named Gavin. Gavin had a friend, 22 year-old (I believe) Russell Jones, who was in and out of foster care for most of his life. The three of these people, all now incarcerated, killed Ellie’s dad. Gavin actually did it, but the other two plotted around it.
