eBay And The Next Wave Of Corporate Sociopathy

Masks from Saw?

You may have seen this eBay stalking scandal yesterday on 60 Minutes:

Basically, a married couple in Massachusetts had a blog for e-commerce sellers. They did a post about the compensation of the eBay CEO back in 2019. Bear in mind that compensation is generally public information. I mostly think no one really care about CEO compensation anymore, and we’ve moved it to the “Meh, I can’t do anything about that” bucket of society. In reality, that’s probably the right bucket — but people just assume, “That’s the gilded class, whatever, hopefully I can afford tilapia this month.” (I often feel this way.)

So the CEO and his top communications lieutenant go apeshit, and start texting about “reducing them to ashes,” or some crap. So basically guys making $500,000+ per year are worried about a tiny blogging couple in MA, 3,000 miles away. You know the whole thing we sometimes discuss about the percentage of corporate executives that might be sociopaths? Yea. This is kinda showcasing that.
