Do We Think Some Women Enjoy Their Husbands Being Totally Beholden To Them?

This is a moderately interesting discussion.

The term I wanted to use in the headline was “whipped,” but I didn’t want to write “Do some women enjoying whipping their husbands?” I mean, I’m sure many do, but it creates an entirely different context for what I am trying to discuss here.

Here’s how I got to thinking about this.

I’m in a men’s group at my church. It is consistently poorly-attended, minus a few things here and there, and most of the time the excuse is “So busy with the kids” or my personal favorite “Babysitting my kids.” (You don’t babysit your own kids.) The more nuanced version of the same excuse is “My wife thinks it’s a thing where we go to a bar or something. I can’t use that night without losing another day in a trade-off.” In sum: if I do this thing on a Wednesday, I can’t play golf on Saturday. Nods.

I think I perhaps know too many rich white guys.

I write about a lot of different topics, from work to masculinity to relationships and social dynamics, I.e. modern friendship. Pleasure to be here.
