Denver Is The Snapshot Of Modern America

Just look at some of the themes.

I watched this CNBC video a couple of days ago:

It’s pretty interesting. When I got divorced in ’17, I briefly considered going to Denver, in part because I had made a lot of money in ’16 as a freelancer. It’s probably good that I didn’t, because I would have known about two people there and I ended up making no money at all really in ’17, so it would have been a struggle. I also considered Charlotte in that brief arc. I ended up staying in Texas. I think it mostly worked out, with some hiccups.

Anyway, if you watch that video, there are a lot of different themes whereby Denver encapsulates America. To run down a few of them:

  1. It is a “striver” community: Both the Governor and the Mayor constantly talk about it as the next Silicon Valley.
  2. It is a liberal urban bastion in the middle of solid-red counties: This is so much of America and we don’t always say that part out loud. Austin. New York City. Even San Francisco has some gun nuts when you get to rural…
