That might be the only thing that cuts across parties anymore.

The grievance capital of America on Sunday night and into Monday morning was whining about Hunter Biden being pardoned on various tax evasion and gun charges, despite being an addict who looked for cocaine in his rug and banged a bunch of sex workers while his dad was Vice President of the United States. The pardon got everyone in a tizzy and there was a lot of what-about-ism regarding Trump and his charges and his lackeys and everything else. It’s all just a giant carnival of noise at some point.

If you want to “Occam’s Razor” this, consider the contextual situation we find ourselves in. While I don’t believe in the idea of “career politicians” and I don’t think that’s what Jefferson and other founders had in mind, Biden was essentially robbed of the major job he ever wanted, the pinnacle of his “career,” because he shit the bed in a prime-time debate vs. Trump due to age — even though Trump himself appears almost as deranged a bunch of the time. Biden, who yes should have exited the 2024 race earlier, got pushed off a cliff despite being the only person on the national stage to ever beat Trump. And what happened? Kamala got her clock cleaned. So now Biden is smarting about that, and he has six or seven weeks remaining of official power…
