Via a Stowe Boyd newsletter and a Tara McMullin post, I came to the quote in the headline here.

That article is predominantly about the demise of Gimlet Media and the idea that bigger isn’t always better. I think most rational people understand this, and a lot of smart people have questioned the “growth at all costs” mindset since 2010 or so. Most of those people are ultimately dismissed by world-builders as “leftists,” or “socialists,” or “don’t understand the free market.” There are a few companies here and there that have done very well with moderate growth, hiring for only essential roles, not taking a ton of investor money, etc. Those companies traditionally do not generate headlines and breathless analysis from business media and, dare I say, “thought leadership.” They might get mentioned in a Fast Company article once a year about four-day work weeks.
