Automation May Well “Replace All The Tasks”
This is a more complete version of the story we’ve been peddling.
One of the biggest talking points for executives around at-scale automation is “These programs will replace the boring jobs and tasks, allowing you to focus on what interests and excites you more.” Nice. But like, are many people even excited or interested by work? It’s means to an end for many, in reality. Putting that aside, the grand promise is that AI will do the boring stuff and we will further optimize our existences as AI does that boring stuff. We’ve never quite answered the question, “How will we be so optimized without any money?” but hey, that’s for another day.
I can tell you right now I’m broke and doing maybe one-two bartending shifts a week with no white-collar hope or promise anywhere in sight. It’s incredibly stressful and taxing. I can’t imagine millions of people having to deal with this because Nvidia sic’ed some coders on an “efficiency problem.”
