I led a workout this morning for F3 Nation at Walsh Ranch in western Fort Worth / edge of Tarrant County. Here’s a little bit more about my specific connection to F3 Nation. I also do their newsletters for the generalized Tarrant and Parker County areas; here’s maybe the best one of those I’ve done recently. In short, it’s a peer-led men’s workout group.
About a month ago (5/13), I basically had to talk myself out of a DUI on a Friday afternoon, which was a real shit-show and eye-opener. So, a month later, I decided to do a workout themed around different addiction stats. I also broke it up with four sub-section short discussions about addiction in people’s lives and families. Here’s the general format if you ever want to copy it:
Warm-Up: Alcohol Stats
- Globally the cause of 5.3% of deaths, so five jump squats and three burpees
- 30 Americans per day die in alcohol-related vehicle fatalities; 30 merkins (pushups).
- Six Americans die every day from alcohol poisoning; six SSH (jumping jacks).
- About 6% of American people, i.e. 15 million, have an alcohol use disorder. Six burpees and 15 Imperial Walkers.
