2022 Has Largely Beaten Me To A Pulp

I haven’t had a ton of great years in the last few, but something is on the horizon, including an end to some of my BS.

In terms of a year-by-year breakdown of the last few years of my life, here’s what I got:

  • 2015: OK. Got laid off for the first time in adulthood, so that was tough. Started my own biz stuff and did OK.
  • 2016: Did well monetarily, felt I had decent friends, although my marriage was fading.
  • 2017: Got divorced, not great on freelance/contract, although did start working out more consistently and trying to figure out life on my own.
  • 2018: Mostly OK, and found a new partner (“love blossoms again!”), but realized I had lost most of my friends tied to my ex.
  • 2019: OK, although not financially and drank too much.
  • 2020: Good, and got married again.
  • 2021: Good, although drank more than I wanted to and started to realize the limitations of adult friendship.
  • 2022: Average to below. The story follows below.
